Given that space is an issue in many Kiwi homes, he reasoned that Hiddenbed would be

We made a wish come true for Charlie, a 12-year old cancer sufferer
Charlie who is battling a life-threatening brain tumor, desperately wanted a bunk and a desk for his
small room at his home in Waimana in the Bay of Plenty. We were able to help out. In association with the
Make-a-Wish-Foundation, we made Charlie’s wish come true and made a real difference to his life.

A new take on the traditional guest bedroom
For home owners like Joyce Gibson from Newtown, this has been a godsend. In true Kiwi hospitality
style, she likes to offer overseas visitors and extended family a bed for the night. But having a
dedicated guest bedroom is increasingly becoming an unaffordable luxury, especially when you need
the space; and Joyce needs it for sewing.

It's a bird, it's a plane
One of those ‘it’s a bird, no it’s a plane’ type things, during the day this funky little
piece of furniture is a desk or table, but pull down the ‘splashback’ and it unveils a bed,
with the table slab (and all of it’s contents) moving nicely to fit underneath. They say on
their website even a cup of coffee on the table part won’t spill when you pull down the bed!
